Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge- Established in 1980 by Congress to preserve the coastal dune ecosystem, Bon Secour NWR holds 7,000 acres of wildlife habitat for nesting sea turtles, migratory birds, and the endangered Alabama beach mouse. Walk the trails, view over 370 different species of birds, see the beaches used as a refuge nesting area for sea turtles and view the well preserved natural dunes they have to offer. Bon Secour truly is one of the 10 natural wonders of Alabama.
