One look at the calendar tells the sad, sad story. Fall is here and that means winter is making its slow and steady approach towards most of the country. Here on the Gulf Shores of Alabama, we look at the pages turning on that calendar and just LAUGH. Fall is our favorite because Gulf Shores weather is darn near perfect.
We are located in the southern sub-tropical area of the continent, which means that year-rounders and visitors alike are greeted with mild temperatures and gentle Gulf breezes all year long. Summers are, of course, the perfect time to hit the beach, but the rest of the year is just lovely; temperate days dissolve into evenings with just a bit of chill in the air, but not even close enough of one to make you remember that there is probably 20 inches of snow waiting for you on your driveway back home.
There really is no bad time to visit our sugar sand beaches and clear, emerald waters, but fall is particularly amazing. The summer crowds have gone home and back to school, leaving the coast for your own personal enjoyment; uncrowded and quiet.
The average temperature in October is 72°, leaving you free to leave the bulky sweaters in the drawer. In November, the average is 65°. Imagine eating your Thanksgiving dinner while enjoying the amazing beach views on the deck of your shore-side vacation rental!
Before you get stuck in the deep freeze that is inevitably heading your way, make your plans now to visit Orange Beach, Gulf Shores or Fort Morgan and unpack your flip flops in one of our fantastic beach rental homes. Get out on the water in a para-sail, tour boat, deep sea fishing vessel or snorkel; play golf, tennis or simply sit on the beach. Whatever you decide to do on and near our beaches, you will make memories that will keep your heart warm throughout the long, cold, dark winter.
