The LA Gumbo Festival, a celebration of music, art, and food (of course!) located in Orange Beach, AL, went through some rescheduling this year. The rescheduled date, October 4th, is during the height of college football season, so this year’s Orange Beach Gumbo Festival is naturally the “Tailgate Edition.” The event, which begins with a VIP party and other celebrations Friday, October 3rd, and continues through Saturday the 4th, includes the Gumbo Masters competition, live music, arts & crafts, and college football coverage on Monster Screen and flat screens located throughout the festival. Festival attendees can purchase tickets for Gumbo tasting, make charitable donations at the “Big Pot” (a 4,000 lb. pot usually used for the “World’s Largest Potof Gumbo), enjoy entertainment and football, and rub elbows with sports figures and celebrity chefs. For attendees travelling from far away, there are vacation rentals in Orange Beach available for the weekend.
